Simmen Automation GmbH

Background

Simmen Automation GmbH is a young company that required a new website following its takeover in 2026. The goal was to create a professional, industry-appropriate online presence that presents the company in a modern way and clearly showcases its complete range of services.

In addition to providing a clear structure, the website needed to build trust, highlight the company’s expertise and give potential customers an accessible introduction to its services.

Process

The client provided the specific content as well as the company colour, green. In the first step, I analysed the material and translated it into a clear information architecture. The aim was to structure the company’s services and expertise clearly and present them in a way that potential customers could easily understand.

The homepage was designed to provide a concise overview of the company, its experience, services and areas of specialisation. To guide visitors towards making contact, I integrated a call to action at the end of every page. The most important contact details were also placed directly in the header, keeping them easily accessible at all times. Each service is presented in greater detail on its own dedicated subpage.

To create a design suited to the industry, I analysed websites from comparable companies and compared their structure, content and visual presentation. The insights gained formed the basis for developing a modern and professional online presence.

For the typography, I selected Barlow for headings and Inter for body copy. Barlow gives the headings a distinctive, technical character that suits the automation industry, while Inter offers excellent readability and makes longer passages comfortable to read.

I developed a consistent colour system based on the company’s existing green. The primary colour is used selectively for buttons, links and other interactive elements, creating clear visual accents without overpowering the content.

Because the company was still being established at the time of the project, no original corporate photography was available. In consultation with the client, I therefore selected suitable stock images that authentically represent the company and its services.
